Bali vs Dubai Weather: Seasons & Year-Round Living
1 сентября 2026 г.

The Bali vs Dubai weather choice is not about a perfect season. It is about deciding which constraint to design around: Bali’s tropical wet-and-dry rhythm or Dubai’s much hotter, drier summer. The building questions and the months you may want to be outdoors are not interchangeable.
For year-round living, ask whether the property and routine remain workable in the least comfortable part of the year.
The two calendars are different, not opposite versions of the same climate
Indonesia Travel’s seasonal guidance describes a broad Bali dry season from April to October and a wet season from November to March. It also stresses regional variation and that climate change has made seasons less predictable. BMKG’s 2026 seasonal outlook likewise treats timing by seasonal zone rather than as an island-wide guarantee.
Dubai has a desert climate rather than a tropical monsoon pattern. The World Meteorological Organization’s Dubai page, using information from the UAE National Center of Meteorology, gives long-run monthly mean daily maxima of 24.0°C in January, 40.6°C in July and 40.4°C in August, with very little average rain from May to October. Its normals use the 1974–1991 period, so they are a historical climate reference, not a prediction for any coming summer. WMO/NCM Dubai climatology
| Period | Bali: practical starting point | Dubai: practical starting point | What to plan for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jan–Mar | Broad wet season; local rainfall patterns differ. | Cooler part of the Dubai year in the long-run record. | In Bali, inspect runoff and drying space; in Dubai, outdoor time is generally easier to schedule. |
| Apr–May | Transition toward the broad dry season. | Heat rises sharply; May’s WMO/NCM mean daily maximum is 36.8°C. | Do not make a property decision from a single fine-weather visit. |
| Jun–Sep | Broadly within Bali’s drier stretch. | The hottest part of the Dubai calendar; July–August mean maxima are around 40°C in the WMO/NCM record. | Cooling, shade and the practical rhythm of an indoor day matter. |
| Oct | Transition signs can emerge in Bali. | Still hot, though the long-run maximum eases to 35.1°C. | Treat it as a test of the actual home rather than a fixed seasonal label. |
| Nov–Dec | Broad wet season. | Temperatures continue to ease; some rainfall returns in the climatology. | In Bali, test drainage and ventilation; in Dubai, evaluate the routine you want for the milder months. |
The table is a planning framework, not a forecast. “Dry season” does not mean rain-free days in every Bali district, and “desert” does not mean an identical experience in every Dubai building.
What the records support—and what they do not
For a numerical Bali illustration, BMKG’s 1991–2020 rainfall normal for Kota Denpasar records 135 mm in April, then 72 mm in May, 48 mm in June, 33 mm in July and 14 mm in August before rising to 84 mm in October. BMKG’s normal-rainfall table gives useful context for a city; it is not a temperature, humidity or rainfall promise for Canggu, Ubud, the Bukit or Bali’s mountain areas.
For Dubai, an official tourism guide describes around 23°C in winter and 41°C in summer. Visit Dubai’s 2026 city guide is a broad summary; the WMO/NCM table is more precise month by month. The sources do not support claims about district humidity, a villa’s electricity bill or a “best” climate.
The sensible inference is practical rather than absolute. Dubai’s summer makes shade, air conditioning, well-sealed windows and a realistic indoor routine central questions. Bali’s wetter months make roof condition, drainage, covered access, ventilation and room for drying laundry central questions. Neither checklist declares one place better; it is a way to test whether a particular home suits the months you will use it.
View property with the hard months in mind
In Bali, ask where roof runoff goes, whether water has entered rooms or the access road, how gutters and drains are maintained, and whether the home smells persistently damp. Check storage, ceilings and bathroom ventilation. A rain-time visit can reveal pooling, roof noise and journey times a sunny inspection conceals.
In Dubai, inspect afternoon sun, window shading, thermostat control and the proposed workspace or nursery. Ask how cooling and utilities are billed and whether bedrooms remain comfortable at night. The aim is to identify questions for the contract, building manager and inspection—not to promise a bill.
For Bali buyers, a structured property discovery trip makes it easier to return to a shortlist at different times of day. If a villa remains in consideration, Anteya’s guide to running costs, staff and pool maintenance is useful for setting up the due-diligence list. Weather does not replace a condition survey or clear maintenance responsibilities.
Do not turn a weather calendar into an investment forecast
Climate can shape when a household enjoys a garden, beach, commute or outdoor exercise. It does not prove visitor occupancy, rental demand, sale price, return or future running cost. Those need dated local evidence for the relevant market segment.
That distinction is important when deciding whether to rent first. Spend ordinary days in the season you are most uncertain about. Work from the intended room, make the school or grocery journey, inspect the home after rain in Bali where possible, and live through a hot Dubai afternoon rather than extrapolating from a holiday itinerary.
The goal is a decision you can explain: “this home works for our wet-season routine,” or “this building’s summer cooling and indoor layout work for us.” It is much stronger than a claim that one climate automatically produces a better lifestyle or investment.
Frequently asked questions
Is Bali rainy all year?
No. Bali’s broad dry season is April–October and its broad wet season is November–March, but rainfall varies by area and year. A seasonal label should guide questions for a viewing, not substitute for the day’s forecast.
How hot is Dubai in summer?
The WMO/NCM Dubai climatology lists mean daily maximum temperatures of 40.6°C in July and 40.4°C in August for its stated historical normal period. Actual weather varies, so check current official forecasts and warnings before travel or outdoor plans.
Does Bali’s rainy season mean lower occupancy or returns?
Weather alone cannot establish either result. Occupancy and returns need separate, dated evidence for the district, property type, operating model and period being considered.
